Link Crew is a student leadership program designed to help incoming freshmen navigate the challenges of high school.
Mrs. Tiffany Sanchez, Link Crew coordinator and teacher, stated, “As a Link Leader, you would play a key role in freshman orientation at the beginning of the school year, helping new students feel welcomed, confident, and ready to succeed.”
Becoming a Link leader could help with numerous benefits, including personal growth and the opportunity to make impactful connections with others.
“Upperclassmen (sophomores and juniors) interested in becoming a Link Leader for the following school year can fill out an application anytime from February 17th through March 5th. Once selected," continued Sanchez, "Link Leaders are required to attend a couple of summer training sessions to prepare for their role. Additionally, they must actively participate in freshman orientation at the start of the school year, where they will play a central role in welcoming and supporting new students.”
This mentorship fosters a sense of responsibility and allows leaders to practice problem-solving, communication, and empathy. Link Leaders play a vital role in ensuring that freshmen feel welcomed and supported, contributing to a smoother transition into high school life.
Link Crew is a new program that was started a few years ago and there has been significant growth this year. This year, Link Crew was offered as a leadership class where students plan and host events for freshmen, as well as teach mini lessons in freshman seminar classes.
Sanchez mentioned, “Link crew has an exciting future ahead, and we’re thrilled to watch it grow into something even stronger over the years. As our school expands, we plan to add more Link Leaders allowing us to make an even bigger impact. We’re excited to continue developing this amazing program and can’t wait to see the positive effects it has on our school culture, helping create a more supportive, connected, and welcoming environment for everyone.”
