On December 3rd, 2024 students from both German and Art Club went on a field trip up to Denver Colorado.
Boarding the bus in the morning they took a long ride up to Denver Christkindlmarket, a German-style holiday market with a variety of vendors and food options.
While students were are the market, many ate authentic German foods and desserts, shopped for Christmas gifts from venders, hung around warm fire pits, and participated in some of the games that were available.
Then, bulldogs went to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. They were free to roam the museum as they pleased, getting to see the current temporary exhibitions which are Animals Of The Rainforest and The Power Of Poison.
Animals Of The Rainforest includes live animals and life-sized replicas of rainforest animals, giving an opportunity to learn more about them and their natural habitats.
The Power of Poison presents the history and dangers of different types of poison, as used in history and in literature. The exhibitions include live performances and large intractable dioramas to teach visitors of how poison was used in old stories like Alice in Wonderland.
After a quick visit to the museum, they went to their last stop of the day, Helga’s German Restaurant & Deli located in Aurora, Colorado.
They were served German home-style meals such as bratwurst, sauerkraut, schnitzel, Spezi, and had an apple strudel for dessert. When they finished eating, students explored the restaurant's gift shop.
Students left the restaurant and hopped back on the bus for a long ride back to Pueblo, returning to Centennial around 9 pm.
